More Thoughts on the Empyrean
I really hope Ms. Yarros will consider doing Lilith & Asher's story eventually because it sounds like the story of the Sorrengail children - especially Violet's - really begins with their parents' story.
I also think the "curing" of a 'venin infection' lies in their making and the Barrens may have tons of unaccessed 'forgotten' libraries (perhaps warded against Venin?) with much lost knowledge pertaining to things, including a 'cure' or reversal/retrieval of the condition.
I also have this thought that extreme cold can feel a lot burning, perhaps the soul isn't burned away and lost, but spiritually 'iced over.' Most especially for those who only turned to protect loved ones and not for Jealousy, greed, or power. If they're strong enough, they might maintain a part of their humanity. It's that line "turning for love."
When did Venin first begin to be a problem? I was thinking Irids, Andarna's clan of Dragons, are pacifist mostly; by choice or nature? I wonder if they could have been the Dragon version of "knowledge keepers" of all Dragon Clans and their 'shared knowledge' but was also the clan that knows how to reverse the Venin infection. Another hint is also all the times Xaden tells Violet that she'll be the death of him. Perhaps, a way to resurrect his lost pieces of soul? I'm sure each Dragon Clan has secret 'clan only' secrets only known by each clan that would not be shared with outsiders. I also believe Theophanie told Violet that Venin lies.
It will be interesting to see how the next books turn out.
